1899 Gold Medal approximately 15 grams. This medal was given to the second place winner and originally had a wide red, white and blue ribbon(replaced). It also had a gold hanger engraved “second Prize”. Under the hanger was a bar that was engraved “Championship” The event went on for two weeks shooting on the roof top of the Madison Square garden. The medal was made by Dieges and Co. Jewelers 23 John Street, New York. The medal was found buried in a vacant lot in Deseronto, Ontario, Canada called the “Sexsmith” Lot. over 50 years ago. Two other families that occupied the mortgage Hill area were the Rathburns and Mastons. Deseronto was a Lumber and rail hub visited by American Tourists in the early 1900's. | |

Circa 1906 exceedingly rare and possibly one of a kind. This celluloid and lithograph picture of live pigeon shooting is relatively common and you will see it quite frequently used by the button maker, Whitehead and Hoag with gun club advertising . What makes this unique is the ribbon. The live bird tournament was held in Blackwell before Oklahoma became a state. The ribbon reads “OKLA. & IND. TER.” . Gun club ribbons in good condition are very hard to find because they are very fragile. | |
